A little late here, but I just got a new computer and it's been a hassle trying to change over. I am missing a receipt, so some of the items will not have prices listed, but you get the idea.
This year was a little nerve wracking as we collected money. We had committed to three families that had been suggested to us and after buying the first family a tree, we only had about $750 (compared to our average of about $1100/year in years past). Combined we had 3 families, with 9 children so we were hoping for at least $100 per kid. In the end, a few people really stepped up and we rounded out at $900 total.
FAMILY #1 - Family needs unknown, even to the family member who suggested them. All we knew was that the parents were unable to buy for their kids this year. We gave the family member that suggested them the $400 to allow the parents to buy for their own children since we did not know what to get them.
NOTE: We received a note from the family thanking them for a wonderful Christmas. They said the kids were not expecting anything, so it was quite a surprise on Christmas morning!

Sink Christmas-Plus
Merry Christmas to all....
Jan and I will be hosting the Sink Family Christmas this year and we would like to extend a warm welcome for all to join us on Christmas day at 5:00PM. Please bring something yummy to share at our evening meal. I thought it might also be fun to share some Sink family Christmas memories from years past...please be thinking of some special memory that you would like to share. If you can't join us but would like to share a memory, you can e-mail it to me at smith9655@gmail.com and I will pass it on for you. We will also be having the popular Sink Family gift exchange later in the evening. We can't wait to see you all.
There is still a little time left to get your donation to Stephanie for our adopted Christmas families. The girls went out on a limb this year and adopted 3 families that they found. We are a little short and any donations are greatly appreciated. Last year we gathered $1100 and we are $300-$400 short of that this year. We have been so....blessed as a family, and it is an incredible blessing for those we touch. I think of this passage of scripture when we do this every year.
Matthew 25
35 'for I was hungry and you gave Me food; I was thirsty and you gave Me drink; I was a stranger and you took Me in;
36 I was naked and you clothed Me; I was sick and you visited Me; I was in prison and you came to Me.'
37 "Then the righteous will answer Him, saying 'Lord, when did we see You hungry and feed You, or thirsty and give You drink?
38 'When did we see you a stranger and take You in, or naked and clothe You?
39 'Or when did we see You sick, or in prison, and come to You?'
40 "And the King will answer and say to them, 'Assuredly, I say to you, inasmuch as you did it to one of the least of these My brethren, you did it to Me.'

Jumpstart on 1 Christmas Family!
Like Paula told you, we have 3 families that we are helping this year. The first family, the single mom with 2 kids, didn't have any Christmas decorations. We went earlier this week and bought her a tree, a star and a few ornaments. She was in tears when we told her that we were doing that and that we wanted a list for the girls so that we could get them a few gifts. She said she left Target in tears and immediately called her mom to tell her that people actually care. When they hung up, her mom posted this on her facebook:
"So the REAL Christmas has stood up. =) I am overwhelmed at the goodness of my God who calls me friend. My Abba who calls me daughter. My Papa who loves me beyond belief. Father, I am counting on You to bless those who have been a blessing to my family, which blesses me. You know who they are."
We make a difference. We are showing people God's love.
At this time, we only have about $300 compared to about $1100 last year. We are pleading for you to give so that we can continue to show these families how much they are loved, by us and by our Father. We will be shopping on Dec. 11, in the evening, if anyone would like to join us!
ALSO: IF YOU WOULD LIKE TO PAY US VIA PAYPAL, THAT IS AN OPTION, JUST SHOOT ME AN EMAIL AND LET ME KNOW!!

You should have been there!
Thanksgiving at Island lake. I don't have a picture, but I wanted to let you know that you should ask Steve how often Gus goes to the beauty parlor to get his nails/claws painted!
Remember this?
This is our christmas family from last year. I thought I would remind everyone what an amazing thing we are doing here, and again I will ask. If you want to donate, please do so ASAP and send me or Stephanie a message so we know we can count on that in preparation for shopping. Thank you to all of you who have already gave!
