Christmas Text

Before we left for church this morning I received this text:

"A sight I could never put words to. It was amazing. Tiff cried and has asked me a thousand times how I did it. Thank you so much. Thank you for putting the biggest smile on all our faces. Merry Christmas to all of you!!"

This mother told me she had to sit her two girls down and try and explain to them that Santa may not be bringing very much this year. She had tried to prepare herself for any possible questions they may have had. For weeks she had watched them write their wish lists for Santa and listened to them talk to each other about what they thought they may get this year. When she finally found the courage to confront them and explain the situation the only response was, "that's ok, we don't need to have anything". They never once asked why.

When I met this mom last week to help her wrap the gifts, you could just feel and see the relief lifted from her. She was thankful beyond words.

We have blessed this family which in turn, I believe, has blessed us also. Thank you all for letting me bring this family to you and I am so grateful to be a part of the Sink family!

I let her know that it is a joy to do it. That we love doing it, and are very thankful to be able to do it. Thank you so much guys. We can truely change someone (s) lives by doing what we do every Christmas. I am so thankful to be a part of this family. To all of you who donated, thank you. Thank you. Thank you. This is what Christmas is all about!!!

If you are coming from 224--go east until you get to 800 E or 700 W (We are on county line) and turn left, then go a couple of miles and we are the house in front of a woods on your left right before you get to 900N --this way is also part on a gravel road so if you do not want to drive on gravel, i will tell you of another way.

if you take 224 but do not want to take a gravel road---

take 224 until you get to 700, turn left, then the next road up, take a right, it will curve and you will come up onto the lutheran church and turn right and then take that road until you get to 800 and turn left again and we are the first house on your left

Christmas Family Update

We have selected two families for our Christmas families this year. Here is a little information about each of them.

Family #1 - Mom, Dad and two girls. Dad is very sick, unable to take care of himself. Mom also has health issues, but is Dad's caretaker. The girls are teenagers. Melissa has more information about them and can probably tell you more. The only thing the parents have asked for is for something on their car to be fixed. They had gotten a quote for $400 from a shop in Bluffton, Kirby called and got them to take the price down to $300!! Go Kirby! Parts have been ordered and we will be doing that for them. Then we will be buying for the girls as we usually shop for kids.

Family #2 - Single mom and 5 kids. Mom works, first 2 children's father was killed. Her house was recently robbed and her attitude was, "someone needed those things more than we did." When she sent her kids list, she said this...

"Thank you so much. It really is an answer to prayer and very much appreciated. I am in a really tight spot right now and don't really have anyone to help me, so I am very grateful!!!! Feel very blessed.....this will never be forgotten, that is for sure!!!!"

A lot of items were stolen that need replacing. The family is now living with a friend, but they would like a microwave (already donated by Schlarbs), a dvd player, pots and pans, and baking sheets. These were some of the items taken that they want to have as soon as they find a new home. If anyone has upgraded their stuff and has old ones lying around, let me know. If not, we can buy her those things I am sure. Thanks for all the help fam! If anyone else would like to give, we need to know. We will be shopping soon!

Celia Grace Behning

For those who may not have heard, Celia Grace is here! She was born 11-10-11 at 10:03 am. 6 lb. 13 oz. 18-1/2". Labor went much quicker and easier than Corbin, as I had hoped! We're doing well adjusting so far and Corbin seems to like his little sister.

Thanksgiving Plans

After talking to Kaylah, and others, the plan is for Thanksgiving to be at our house again this year. Kaylah and Andy would like to host, but are currently working on some home improvements that would make it hard. So, Thanksgiving at the Smedberg's and hopefully Christmas at the Todd's!

Same as every year, we will plan on 12:00 for lunch and people are welcome to come and go throughout the day.

Christmas Family

Ok guys....do we want to do a Christmas family this year? We need to be serious about this, and vote yes or no. I have a family in mind (only 2 people), but I need to know if we are interested. This last year was very rough. We didn't think we would have enough money to provide, but as always, the Lord did provide. I don't want to say that we will do a family though unless we are devoted to make it work. It is getting close to start thinking about this, and if you know someone in need, and want to do it, please let me know. I love doing this, and I think this is what Christmas is all about. We are truely blessed as a family..........

Valhalla Barn getting new life

the east side of the roof had fallen off the wall and the center of it was about 24 inches below the header(you can see where they are jacking) after connecting the two side together with cable they then jacked the middle of the roof up some 40 inches....when i left they were replacing the floor joist on the east side so they could set the rafter back on the wall...

Scentsy!

Hey everyone! I know not everyone has facebook, so I thought I would put something on here too! But I am a new Scentsy consultant trying to get the word out about our amazing products! Sink Hole Pond Party Date Has Been Set

This years Sink Hole party will be on Sunday, July 31st at 1:00. We are trying something new with the food. Please bring your own hotdogs, burgers or brats plus buns along with a side and your own drinks. We will plan on grilling shortly after 1:00.

New November Baby

Sorry, I haven't been on the blog in quite a while. I think most of you know, but we're having baby #2 in November! We're excited to have a growing family, even though it will likely be a little crazy at first!

Also, I was just looking at the calendar and wondering, is there going to be a Sink get-together this summer?

Baby News!

I posted on Facebook already, but I know that not everyone is over there. I wanted to let everyone know that Carl and I are expecting baby #3 in December!

There is another family member pregnant, but I don't think she has said anything here yet??? Two MORE Sink babies by Christmas!!

Prayer Request

Hey everyone!
I know it has been quite sometime since I have posted anything, but I just wanted to ask you all for your thoughts and prayers for my friends and the Foughty family. A guy I graduated with was killed last Friday morning in a car crash. Thankfully no one else was with him, but unfortunately he did not make it. We are only 21 years old, and I should not be having to worry about what to wear to a friends funeral, and I cannot even imagine what his family is feeling right now, so please keep them in your thoughts and prayers. The funeral was today, and it was very hard to get through, and seeing all my classmates, I much rather would have chosen to see them somewhere else, but Jordan was such a great guy and he would do anything for you and I am so blessed that I was able to be friends with him. But I thank you all for praying for his family in this time. I love you all very much!

I just wanted to inform everyone that Adam has lost his Grandpa, Bill Roebuck (his mom's father). He left this world 04/19/2011 at 730AM. There will be a memorial service Thursday, April 23 2011 at 700PM at Thoma/Rich Funeral home in Bluffton. There is also an online obituary at the funeral home website.

We are moved into our new home thanks to our family and several people from the church. We had a 14 vehicle caravan from Zanesville to the new house last thursday. I'm sure the neighbors think the Clampetts have moved to Fort Wayne. With the help of our kids, over the weekend, we are pretty well unpacked (70 percent?) I'm sure it will be weeks before we find everything.

Surgery over

Mary said that they put plates and screws in my foot so i guess this makes me bionic....was sick most of the evening but feel good now....now have a cast on which will be on for 2 weeks,,,then a walking boot,,being sick with a cast on in a RV not good....thanks for all the prayer

Riding Mower For Sale

Jan and I sold our house in the country and we will be moving to the southwest area of Fort Wayne in a couple of weeks. We were looking for a house with fewer but bigger rooms. We found a house in Aboite Township that fits our needs perfectly. With me being on the road 2 weeks a month, Jan feels vulnerable by herself at times and would like a neighborhood with friends close by. She has also been stuck with mowing 2-1/2 acres on her own. We have a 2 year old Husqvarna LGT2554 riding lawn mower. It has a Kohler 25HP engine, Hydrostatic Transmission, 54" Deck. It has 75 hours of use and would make a great mower for someone. Up date

FYI on April 11 i will have surgery on my right foot to repair the bones called metatarsal ..They are using a plate and pins and they say it will heal fast after the swelling goes down..Mary got the green flag and does not need any more attention

Car Wreck

just to let you know we had a front end crash with a truck Saturday about noon...he pulled out in front of us so we hit him around the drivers door..spent over 5 hours in the er,,Mary has a broken big toe and seat belt,air bag abrasions..me i have to out do her so i have 9 stitches over left eye and a totally messed up right foot which they say need surgery so don't know what going to happen with that..right now taking oxycodone till then

maple time

a short message ,good maple season so far 150 gals and counting garry is getting pretty tired thats a lot of boiling grandsons have helped alot and others the syrup is very light thats the way i like it we are having a lot of rain now mud mud mud in the fifty's thats all for now love nancy

Cody Tyler Waldman

On Tuesday, February 8, J.D. and Amy had another son, Cody Tyler Waldman, at 8:32 a.m. Cody weighed 8 lb 10 oz and was 21 inches long. Mom, Dad, and baby were to go home from the hospital tonight, 2/9.

I haven' t been able to get in to post, but O.K. now that I sent a comment. Perhaps because I haven t posted for a long time.
Yesterday I went up to Steve's and found four Indiana guys there. Kerry Lynn, Jared & Josh and friend. They all, plus Steve and Steves friends left last night for the West to go snowmobiling. They are just west of Yellowstone at Island Park, Idaho. Hope they all have a wonderful time. I'll miss them not being here as they usually snowmobile here every winter. Hello to all Sink Family from the cold tundra of Minnesota. I'm ready for spring. Suppose to get cold again. zero during the day and down to - 20 nightime for four more days.

Sink Family Cradle

How many of you have slept in the cradle? How many of you have pictures of you or your baby in the cradle?

We briefly talked about how great it would be to collect all of the different baby pictures and make a little album to keep with the cradle.
