Mom and Missy came down to Indy this past weekend for the state high school marching band competition at Lucas Oil Stadium...and some shopping and general girl time :) It was a great time for us band geeks, we watched Class C (which is the class Norwell competes in) and Class A (BIG bands, Homestead-size; Avon's band has 260 kids, which Missy and I commented was more than our high school graduating classes!!). Norwell took 2nd place in Class C, and although their show was very good and the music was amazing, it was the general consensus that there were other bands that performed better and deserved a higher placing. For anyone interested in more info (tap into that inner band nerd!!), http://www.indianamarching.com/ is a great site, but you might need to create a profile to see anything good (it doesn't take long, and they don't spam). Unfortunately, my camera was out of service (i.e. I forgot to charge the battery :( ) for Saturday so I don't have pictures to share.
However, the camera was back in service for the Colts vs. Patriots game on Sunday night, so I'll post a few of those photos here. It was a blast!!! If you ever get the opportunity to go, it is fun, and I honestly think no seat in the house is a "bad" seat...we were in section 529 (the second highest level) and could still read the numbers on the jersies. The stadium is amazing, just seeing that is an experience in itself!

The outside of the stadium, looking through the giant open window (which they closed for the game, we think to keep the noise in ;) )

Line of scrimmage...sometime in the first half
Fireworks for the 18-15 win over the Pats! Also, don't forget to vote today!! Even though this horribly long election season has been so annoying, I hope everyone feels as neat as I do to think that we get to go out and make our voices heard :D
