What a hunt on Sunday. I was looking out of the window in Sara's entry room and this buck came from John's field and into her yard. I had brought my gun in from the earlier hunt so I had it right there in the room. When the buck got into the middle of the yard, one of her cats ran out into the yard. The buck decided it was not a threat and appeared to be staring it down. I loaded the gun and was able to open the window enough to shoot. I hit it in the front of the chest as it was pointing towards me. It ran about 30 yards and fell down just on the other side of where Sara's camper is parked. It dressed out at 235 pounds, not sure of the rack score yet but it will be a high non-typical, who knows it may be a record for Clearwater County. The neighbors are a little upset as they had been watching and waiting for it, but so goes the hunt. Sara said I could put it on the wall, but we need to find a big enough spot, may need to remodel a bit. Hope everyone that is hunting, "Steve", get one just like it.

where does the license plate on that truck say that it is from?.....hmmmmmmmm...
Ican believe he shot it out of the house window...from the stories i here him tell he usually shoots them out of the car window!!!--HA-HA
What kind of license is that on your truck Chris...How many points on the rack-let us know and show us a picture with both you and the deer.
Chris is gone until friday, so not sure he can be around to defend himslef until then. stephen, you may be onto something...I haven't seen the deer, either. ;-)
Ranger Rick and myself have been going over this case and also find some holes in the story...sara not seeing the deer the license plate we think their is more to this than meets the eye
You are all wrong, I did not take a picture with it as I can not take any more publicity than I already have. Sara has seen the deer, she was just so suprised she is suffering from antler shock. Lokk for me in the magazines. The truck belongs to my cousin andrew who is an electrician in wisconsin who was up her for the hunt.
Signing off,

I've done more investigating on this so called big buck story and have come up with some interesting things. My wife and family own a school Bus company and they employ a retired Minnesota State Patrol officer as one of their drivers, and his daughter is currently a MSP officer stationed here in Detroit Lakes. We ran the licence plate # and came up with some interesting facts. So Chris tell us again who really owns the truck and whose name it is registered to...
steve and laurie...that was a good one! -Sara
great work steven,, ranger rick and myself our proud of you...if this was such a big deer would you not get a picture of it and yourself...instead we see a picture of a deer in a truck anyone can get such a picture...even ranger rick took a pic of himself and the baby bear...
Alright I will confess. A kid named alex jesness shot the deer. He shot it just outside the city limits of bagley. From what I hear if you count the small points coming off the right brow tine which is at least 6 inches around I believe it would be a 20 pointer. In any case it was an awesome deer to see. For a rack that big, it only weighed 220 lbs.
