Spring Breaker
Cody left for Florida with Campus Life last night. When I dropped him off there seemed to be quite a few dads checking out the engine of the bus they were taking. Apparently this bus tops out at 60mph and they were checking to see if it would even make it out of Wells County. I was under the impression they would be taking a charter bus, far from it, I think this might have been one of the first school buses to be driven around here. The director of Campus Life said it took them around 23 hours to get there last year with very minimal stops, I think they were afraid to turn it off once they got it going. Cody said he just planned on sleeping on the way down, not sure how much sleep he's going to get in those seats, plus the stench on that bus was enough to keep anybody up!! Good times, hope they make it.

Years later this trip could be a start of a conversation
"Remenber when we"
oh yeah... i have plenty of memories on a bus trip to florida for spring break! AHG! 1992 or 1993...got stuck in a snowstorm in alabama and it took us 3 days to get home and it was a disaster area in MULTIPLE southern states. we had to stay one night on the bus in a trafficjam, slept the next day in a church, and slept one night in an armory. we made breakfast for 300+ people at the armory, were on the alabama news, and we all (maybe 30 of us) hiked through the snow on our shorts and sandals to a farmstead to make calls to our parents and the lady gave us as many pairs of socks as she could find and all the food in her house! It was awful at the time, but it was funny, too. definately something my friends and i will laugh about til we are too old to remember anymore! The guys on the bus were making a lot of money pushing people out of the ditches and getting them unstuck-Minnesota boys with plenty of experience with that. F-U-N-N-Y!!!! Have a GREAT time, CODY!
